FAQs

  • What is the goal of Rejoice?

The main goal of Rejoice is to bring joy — real, lasting joy that is found in Jesus. Many youth today feel discouraged, alone, and without purpose. Rejoice exists to remind them that true joy, meaning, and identity are found in Christ alone. Through powerful worship, intentional prayer, and an encouraging word, the night is designed to help youth encounter Jesus and walk away renewed, encouraged, and reminded that their lives have purpose.

  • What is the schedule for the night?

Doors open at 6:00, kicking off at 6:30. The night will flow through powerful worship, a 30-minute message, a time to encounter Jesus, more worship and celebration, and end with chill fellowship time. We’ll wrap up at 9:00.

  • Is there a cost for groups?

No. There is no cost for groups to attend Rejoice. The event is completely free. We simply ask that groups register in advance and bring adequate adult supervision so we can plan appropriately and ensure a safe, organized night for everyone.

  • Who is organizing and overseeing the event?

Rejoice is a youth-led event run by youth from the Selwyn Outreach Center youth group, including Isabelle McRury, Elizabeth Pedosiuk, and others, with trusted adult leaders providing supervision and support. Youth drive the planning and worship, while adults help with oversight to ensure a safe and well-structured night.

  • What kind of environment can we expect?

A lively, worship-centered environment where youth can engage in praise, prayer, and meaningful connection with Jesus.

  • What are the supervision expectations?

Each youth group is responsible for supervising its own youth throughout the whole event. Groups must bring adequate adult leadership and remain responsible for their youth the entire time. Trusted adult leaders are expected to actively supervise and engage with their group.

  • Do we need to register each student individually?

No. Youth groups register as a group. However, we do require total attendance numbers and a list of adult leaders for planning and supervision purposes.
